Community Payback

Community Payback is the name given to the unpaid work offenders carry out in the community as part of a Community Order.

Projects undertaken by Probation must meet certain criteria:

• Must benefit the local community
• Must not take paid work from others
• No-one must make a profit from the work
• Must be worthwhile, constructive and give offenders new skills
• Offenders must be seen to be putting something back into the community.
